THE FLIGHT OF THE EAGLES IN THE HEART OF THE CITY: FATTORE CAMPO STOPS IN CATANZARO

BKT has left its mark once again. It was a day of celebration for the Galliano and Materdomini neighborhoods, in the working-class heart of Catanzaro. Here, the Title Sponsor of Serie BKT inaugurated the fifth winning project of Fattore Campo, the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative dedicated to donating new playgrounds and community spaces to the cities of the league.

HOW FATTORE CAMPO WORKS

During each Serie BKT season, fans can play a “parallel championship” through the BKT Premia contest. Beyond winning official jerseys and balls, every play accumulates points for a special ranking. At the end of the year, the top-ranked teams win a redevelopment project for a local playground or sports area that specifically needs renovation.

Last season, Catanzaro fans demonstrated incredible dedication to their city. Their passion drove the club to success both on the field and off, resulting in a new, safe space where local children and young people can socialize, play by the rules, and strengthen the community bond.

A NEW MULTIPURPOSE SPACE FOR THE COMMUNITY

Fattore Campo has provided the city with a fully renovated multipurpose court adjacent to the “Galati” school complex, designed for football and volleyball. The project involved complete resurfacing and resin coating, enhanced by an artistic touch from local muralists Sonny Procopio and Claudio Chiaravalloti.

With the help of local students, the artists decorated the walls and stands with tributes to two Catanzaro football icons: Massimo Palanca, the legendary “Giallorossi” hero of the 70s and 80s, and Pietro Iemmello, the current captain and leader who has spearheaded the club’s recent success in Serie BKT.

Education, social inclusion, and the bond between citizens and their idols: these values align perfectly with the mission of Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT). The company has been supporting sports and local communities for years, promoting healthy lifestyles and positive social change.

THE INAUGURATION: A DAY OF SPORT AND CELEBRATION

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the court was opened for a friendly match featuring the “Galati” children and their heroes. Pietro Iemmello and his Catanzaro teammates led the activities, handing out BKT footballs and gadgets while signing autographs and taking photos with the young fans.

“At Catanzaro, BKT immediately felt at home. Seeing the happiness in the children’s eyes and the pride of a united community is exactly why we sponsor sports. Days like this give meaning to everything we do. It is not just about opening a field; it’s about sharing real emotions and creating lasting bonds within the community.”

These were the words of Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director of BKT Europe, who attended the ceremony alongside Paolo Bedin (Lega B) and Edoardo Alzetta (Head of Sports at Havas Play), the agency that partners with BKT and Lega B to bring Fattore Campo to life.

The event saw great involvement from local institutions, including Deputy Mayor Giusy Emma, Councillors Antonio Battaglia and Pasquale Squillace, and U.S. Catanzaro General Director Paolo Morganti. The day was moderated by comedian Ivan Colacino, a local favorite known for his viral and hilarious social media commentaries.

NEXT STOP: BARI

The next stop for Fattore Campo will be Bari, where BKT will renovate a field in the Redentore district. This will be the sixth project delivered by BKT’s CSR program, which over the last three years has already donated spaces to the cities of Lecce, Cosenza, Como, and Palermo.
