Excellent performances and constantly high levels in the final phases of the season: Alexandre Ib Zaouai has been named Ligue 2 BKT Rookie of the Month for April and May.

The award, promoted by Title Sponsor BKT, celebrates the emerging young talents in the championship and confirms the brand’s commitment to supporting and showcasing the new generations of football.

The Ivorian midfielder has stood out with two goals, both scored in the month of April, contributing to keeping the hopes of SC Bastia staying in Ligue 2 BKT alive almost to the last, only to see them vanish in the last match of the season.

Born on 1 April 2005, Zaouai arrived in Corsica in the summer of 2025. After an initial period of acclimatization, he succeeded in carving out a space for himself until he became a regular in French team Bastia. Despite a difficult year for the team, he was able to distinguish himself with his quality and consistency, earning this special award for himself.

His performances have not gone unnoticed: a number of clubs in Ligue 2 BKT have already expressed an interest in the young talent, allowing the possibility to be glimpsed of seeing him as a protagonist in the championship again next season.
