For the second consecutive month, a Metz player has won the award for the best young talent in Ligue 2 BKT. This recognition highlights the commitment of the league’s Title Sponsor – BKT, leading company in the production of Off-Highway tires – towards the new generations: March is the month of Sadibou Sané.

Sané, a Senegalese defender, will turn twenty-one in June and is currently in his second season with Les Grenats. Just like Idrissa Gueye (February’s Rookie of the Month), he arrived in Lorraine from Generation Foot, the Dakar-based academy partnered with Metz.

After making 14 appearances last season to acclimate, he has become a cornerstone of coach Stephane Le Mignan’s squad this year, establishing himself as an irreplaceable starter in the best defense of Ligue 2 BKT. In November, he also celebrated his first professional goal during the Coupe de France match against Obernai.

Metz currently sits third in the standings, in full contention with Paris FC and Lorient for promotion to Ligue 1—a battle expected to be thrilling until the very last matchday.
