BKT LEAVES ITS MARK AND INAUGURATES THE FIRST PROJECT OF “FATTORE CAMPO”
BKT — a leading manufacturer of Off-Highway tires and Title Sponsor of Serie BKT — recently celebrated a truly special milestone in the city of Lecce. The first sports area of the Fattore Campo project was officially inaugurated, marking the successful completion of a social initiative aimed at redeveloping play areas across the cities of the Serie BKT. In the 2021–22 season, Lecce emerged as the winner, leading to the complete renovation of the five-a-side pitch in Piazzale Cuneo, located in the 167 district.
FANS AS PROTAGONISTS OF CHANGE
The protagonists of this victory were the Giallorossi fans who, by participating in the BKTpremia contest, accumulated the points necessary to place Lecce at the top of the Fattore Campo ranking. By bringing this project to life, BKT and its partners have put into play the core values that guide the company’s daily work: passion, local engagement, and teamwork. Following the brand’s motto “#LeaveYourMark,” the goal remains to create something tangible and meaningful for the community.
A DAY OF CELEBRATION AND ART
The event featured numerous activities, including the unveiling of a commemorative plaque on the new BKT-branded pitch. Special guest Ernesto Chevanton, the historic U.S. Lecce striker, kicked off the creation of a symbolic mural on a nearby building. The legendary forward also acted as a special referee for a match between local youth from the 167 district and a selection of U.S. Lecce academy players, turning the inauguration into a joyful neighborhood celebration.
EMOTIONS AND FUTURE PROSPECTS
“I’ve seen many stadiums, but this is definitely the most beautiful. I wish I had one like this as a kid,” said a visibly moved Chevanton during the ceremony. The ribbon-cutting was attended by representatives from the Municipality of Lecce, Lega B, and Havas Sports & Entertainment. Following this success, a new redevelopment will soon begin in Cosenza, while the project continues into the 2022–23 season, once again giving Serie BKT fans the chance to play a key role in creating accessible sports spaces for their communities.
