PAULINE BARRAT WINS THE BKT RISING PLAYER AWARD IN THE WOMEN’S SIX NATIONS 2026
On her debut in the Guinness Women’s Six Nations with the French national team, Pauline Barrat has won the BKT Rising Player award, which is assigned to the most promising young international rugby players.
Born on 1 June 2004 in La Rochelle, at just 21 years of age Barrat immediately displayed personality and determination in the fullback role. On her debut in the competition, in the inaugural challenge against Italy, she impressed with her incisiveness and sure touch: dangerous with ball in hand and extremely reliable in the tackle. Her debut with the full national team is the result of a growth path that began with the French Under-20s, where she stood out thanks to her performances in the ranks of the “Bleuettes”. It was at youth level, in fact, that the first individual recognitions came along that paved the way for her arrival in the senior selection.
Despite her young age, Barrat’s career has already been marked by two serious injuries, which the player has subsequently overcome with determination, showing resilience and making this success even more significant: a debut in the Women’s Six Nations crowned by one of the most prestigious prizes for emerging talents.
The BKT Rising Player award, devised by BKT – global leader in the production of Off-Highway tires and Official Tire Partner of the Six Nations – celebrates the new generation of international rugby, showcasing the best young players in both the men’s and the women’s tournaments. Pauline Barrat is the second female winner of the trophy, after Séraphine Okemba, who won the first edition.
The award ceremony took place at the Stade Atlantique in Bordeaux on the occasion of the match between France and England, which concluded the tournament. The trophy was handed over by Marco Santin, BKT Sponsorship Specialist.
With initiatives such as the BKT Rising Player award, the company confirms its commitment to the development of young talents in the sport, an approach that is also extended to other competitions, such as Serie BKT, with the MVP of the Month prize, and Ligue 2 BKT, with the “Rookie of the Month” award.
So another exciting edition of the Guinness Women’s Six Nations is concluded. BKT is ready to continue to support the future of international rugby: see you again in 2027.
